The purpose of this paper is to describe the role of eco innovation efforts and the relationships with the sustainable development in manufacturing industries particularly in the automotive industries. The outcomes of this paper attempts to describe types of eco innovation efforts from technology and non-technological dimension. Furthermore, the cutting edge of this paper presents constructs for dynamic capabilities related to the eco innovation efforts. Finally, this paper presents the new research opportunities for eco innovation research mainly in developing countries.
